Zwei Manner Anmelden

My finished trade with *ladybat ( ), of her character Zwei Einhorn ( [link] ) for my Mr. Face.

Ach. About five hours total work went into this. Half an hour on the sketch (I kept changing the background - first he was sitting in a bedroom, then the chair came in and he was floating on some clouds, then he was surrounded by broken gears and cogs, and I ended up with the screens), an hour and a half for the inking, and three hours to color.

I'm really proud of this one, though. The coloring turned out really well, and I heart the costume I created. To be honest, I stole a lot of it from the character Ryuutaros ( [link] )from the Japanese TV show 'Kamen Rider Den-o'. Well, at least the dark purple long coat and white gloves... The rest of his costume is pretty much just taking his armor and making it less 'Megaman-y'. I didn't really exactly do that, but just tried to work a lot of his design into it - like the wing shoulder pads and the yellow motifs on the chest plate and shin guards. I actually used the eyedropper tool to get the exact colors Ladybat used on Zwei, like for the hair, the skin, the horn, etc.

I'm not sure why he has a sword. I was trying to make him video-game-villain-y, since Mr. Face is obsessed with video games, and even put himself into the one he created as the hero, Alpha. (See, he's the silhouette in the door way - that's actually the Face Kadas picture - [link] though it's obscured by smoke). I'm not sure why Zwei has a katana. > < It just sort of fit.

The title... ah, the title. In english, it reads 'Two Men Enter'. Yeah, yeah, as in Thunderdome, 'Two men enter, one man leaves'. I translated it into German as a pun, since Zwei (two) is the name of the character I drew. Blah.
