Rebirth

Do you ever have a piece of art or writing that just is... perfect, from sketch to finished piece? Well, this is it for me. Everything about it is exactly how I wanted it to turn out. Face, body, blending, lighting... every single thing is perfect. I love it.

Even the insane amounts of pink.

You can say this is a... follow up to 'Second Coming' ( [link] ). After Isaac dies, she can be 'reborn'. A lot of specially imagery was used here. First is the wings. The wings have always been made of glass and symbolize that, while she is always suffering, she can still 'fly' and be free, as well as carry a little bit of beauty to counter-act her harsh personality and appearance. The bandages are coming off of her, instead of going on. This is like after surgery of any sort. The wound has healed and is now clean and presentable. So she is nude, to show that she no longer fears and hates the look of her own body, and all of her scars are gone, including those on her personality (though that is less of a visual thing), leaving her fresh and pure as she was at birth. Except for the 'X' shaped scar on her breast. This shape is repeated in her arms, and subtly in her legs and bandages. This is a symbol of her religion (Orthodox Minoan), which states that lives constantly cross, and that souls can be moved on to others at death, so no-one really has to die. In this instance, her soul, instead of recycling to someone else, has recycled inside of her, cleansing her. Her lover is also maX, called eX, or eXidus, and so the shape can reflect her love for him. The pink lighting is... um.... well, that doesn't really have a significance. I just wanted to choose a lighting that was bright and could show that this is an optimist piece, since I have seen many similar that are dark and angsty. I wanted to show that, in a way, I have let myself be reborn, and I feel less terrible about myself, cleaner, and more ready to take on the world.

This whole 'rebirth' thing may very well become cannon. It won't show up in the rewrite of Gears (if I ever get around to that), but it could happen in maX's Apocalypse-y Second Coming-y cross-over thingy, after she kills Z'ram - and pretty much both literally and metaphorically kills off the hate-filled and dangerous part of herself.

Ah, look at that. I'm rambling. Well, I'm happy with this. I worked hard on it.
